Salt Dough Hearts

Supplies List

1 C. Flour
1/2 C. Salt
1/4 C. Water ( + add to proper consistency)
White Paint to Brighten the Dough
Rolling Pin
Cookie Cutter
Straw for Making Hole
Jute or String to Hang Salt Dough Hearts
Tree Branch to Display | Old Cans to Cover & Use as a Base

Step One

Mix ingredients for Salt Dough until you have a consistency that is similar to play dough. Be sure to mix thoroughly but do not over mix so dough so it will stay pliable and not become too hard to work with.

Step Two

Roll the dough out into about 1/4” thick sheet.

Step Three

Now it is time to get creative!! Roll different textures over the top the get fun patterns. Add different color food coloring/paint. Build different shapes or keep it simple as we have here, just cutting out a single shape. Add the holes if you want to hang these after and then let them dry.

Once dry, hang them on a tree branch you have collected from the park or make them into garland. Paint them if you’d like or leave them beautifully white!! Get creative, make it your own, and most of all: HAVE FUN!!!
